Lady Gaga Gets Crowned Honorary Miss Gay America

Lady Gaga is putting the focus back on her health after revealing her fibromyalgia diagnosis, canceling her show at Rock In Rio and postponing the European leg of her "Joanne World Tour." However, the pop superstar was all smiles as she received the title of Miss Gay America (along with the crown) during a recent meet and greet.

Just a few days ago, pageant owner Michael Dutzer took to Instagram to make the big reveal with a photo alongside Mother Monster. "First we would like to wish @ladygaga the best as she recovers from an injury. On Sept 10 we presented Lady Gaga with a Miss Gay America crown, making her the first honorary Miss Gay America," Dutzer captioned the shot.

"We love Gaga for all she’s done for the LGBTQ community, especially our youth, so we thought this would be a great way to honor her for championing self-acceptance, diversity and the beauty in everyone’s mirror," he continued.

In case you weren't aware, the Miss Gay America pageant started in 1972 as the world’s first female impersonator competition. In addition to the crown, Dutzer and fellow pageant owner Rob Mansman presented the singer with a $5,000 donation to her youth-focused non-profit, the Born This Way Foundation.
