Did you know about this new Instagram profile feature?
Yesterday Instagram announced a new feature for the social media platform and it brought many people back to the early 2000s. The new feature will allow users to add a song to their profile just like Myspace did during the early times of social media.
“We’re excited to announce that you can now add a song to your profile, giving you more ways to express yourself through music. Your profile song selection will be live until you swap out the song,” Instagram said in a post.
The slight difference on this feature from what Myspace was doing is that the the song won't automatically play and those who view your profile can decide if they want to play or stop the song. To use this feature you must:
- select "Edit Profile" from your Profile tab and then select "add music to your profile"
- search for your favorite song
- select song you want to use and choose what part you want to play on your profile
- you can choose up to 30 seconds of a song and change the song whenever you want
Instagram tested out this feature yesterday in collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter for her new album release and fans were able to get a tease of her new song "Taste" before it came out. What do you think of this feature?!
