Project Pat's son was reportedly shot and killed in his hometown.
According to a report TMZ published on Thursday, January 23, Patrick Houston Jr., the son of Project Pat and nephew of Three 6 Mafia's Juicy J, was found dead in a park in Imogene Heights, Tenn. Memphis Police say the shooting happened near Charjean Park on January 10 at around 1:15 p.m. Houston was already deceased when police arrived on the scene. As of press time, there is no other information about the shooting. Neither Project Pat nor Juicy J have publicly commented on Houston's death. He was only 21.
Project Pat, born Patrick Houston, got his start in the music industry alongside his younger brother Juicy J and DJ Paul in the early 1990s. He eventually joined the Hip-Hop group The Kaze before he released his debut album Ghetty Green in 1999. He gained even more notoriety in 2000 when he came up with the infectious hook on Three 6 Mafia's "Sippin' On Some Syrup." He dropped 10 solo albums since 2001 and collaborated with numerous artists over the years including Drake, Dee-1, Denzel Curry, Rick Ross, and more.
In recent years, Project Pat has dedicated his time to spreading the word of God in prisons and jails. He doesn't consider himself a pastor like his father but has accepted being referred to as a preacher or minister.
Patrick Houston Jr.'s funeral service is scheduled for this Saturday. May he rest in peace.
