10 Rising Artists You Need To Hear Before Rolling Loud Miami 2023

It's Rolling Loud season in Miami once again. With every installment of the annual Hip-Hop festival in its flagship location, fans get to witness a mixture of their favorite artists and fresh acts they may have never heard of before.

Rap fans have already experienced an influx of new MC's who've blown up within the past year. Some of those new artists, like Lola Brooke and Luh Tyler for example, will be performing during the festival on July 21 to July 23 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. They aren't the only rising stars who made it to the coveted lineup.

Every year, Rolling Loud does well to introduce its fans to new acts from around the country. Before the massive event kicks off later this week, check out 10 new artists you should get familiar with before they blow up.

Bktherula has become a stand-out act at Rolling Loud within the past year Hailing from Atlanta, Bk was born into a musical family. Her mother was a singer and her father was rapper in a group called Planet X. She's been cranking out music since she was pre-teen but officially began releasing her music online in 2018. The 20-year-old spitta dropped four projects in total including Love Santana (2019), Nirvana (2020) and Love Black (2021). Her latest album LVL5 P1 feature bangers like "TAN," "WE MADE IT" with Rico Nasty and "FOREVER PT.2" featuring Destroy Lonely. Bktherula's fast-paced rhymes over invigorating instrumentals will have the crowd turnt up throughout her entire set in Miami.

Eem Triplin

Eem Triplin is quickly making an impact on the rap game. The Johnstown, Penn. native is becoming well known for his raspy bars over a unique blend of trap and R&B. He entered the game as a producer who looked to Playboi Carti and Trippie Redd as inspirations. His beats caught the attention of $NOT, who recruited him to produce several tracks for him. Last year, Triplin decided to hop on the mic for a slew of fresh singles including "AWKWARD FREESTYLE" and "JUST FRIENDS." After appearing on several stages overseas earlier this month, Eem Triplin dropped his debut EP STILL PRETTY. In addition to the bars, the 22-year-old also handled most of the production for the project alongside DJ Dahi and others. After recently hitting the stage overseas, Triplin is ready to bring his first body of work to life in Miami.



Hoosh

Hoosh has proven himself to be a multifaceted artist in every sense of the word. His ability to blend Hip-Hop, R&B and other genres together has resulted in an eclectic catalog. His collection of rare tunes has been growing bigger since he began his career in 2018. In 2021, the Sudan-born artist released his first official project everything's going to be alright. Within the past year alone, Hoosh has dropped melodic, acoustic tracks including "Dirt Bag" and "Pick Me Up," both of which will sound incredible at in a festival setting. Hoosh previously performed at Rolling Loud California as well as their recent European events. Make sure to watch him bring his rare sounds to Miami.

Loe Shimmy

Among all the slew of artists out of Florida who've blown up this year, Loe Shimmy has managed to set himself apart from the rest. The Pompano Beach native has spent the past three years on the rise impressing fans with tracks like "Fallin" and "slide." Since he dropped his Zombie Land album in 2020, Shimmy's been consistently dropping batches hits including World WAR Z (2020), Zuper Powerz (2021) and his most recent project Z end. His melodic cadences and smooth bars have also appeared on projects from other Florida rappers like Kodak Black, Luh Tyler, FCG Heem and Danny Towers.



Maiya The Don

Maiya The Don hasn't been in the music scene for long, but she's already made quite a name for herself. After previously captivating her following with songs like "Chiraq" and "222" last year, the Brooklyn artist dropped her breakthrough single "Tefly." Since then, she's delivered a slew of singles including "Dusties" and "Keep It Cute." Earlier this year, Maiya also teamed up with Lola Brooke on Flo Milli's "Conceited" (Remix) and "No Love" (Remix) with Trina. She also recently joined Jay Critch on his new single "Google Maps." This is her first time at Rolling Loud Miami so you never know who she'll bring out with her.



SCY Jimm

SCY Jimm has been active all throughout 2023. After blowing up from his hit "Ballin" last year, the Daytona Beach, Fla. rapper landed a deal with Quality Control in February. Two months later, he dropped his major label debut Trench Baby, which holds 17 tracks with no features. Towards the end of May, Jimm picked right back up by dropping "Set In Stone." A week later, Jimm was shot during a shooting at an apartment complex in his hometown. He was injured, but the incident didn't slow him down at all. He dropped a two-track EP shortly after he was release from the hospital, and just dropped his new single "Check" last week. Fans can expect to see him perform all of his latest tunes at Rolling Loud this weekend.


Sexyy Red

Sexyy Red is the hottest new act to hit the airwaves. Ever since "Pound Town" went viral, the St. Louis native has gained plenty more notoriety. The Tay Keith-produced track recently got a boost after it got the remix treatment from Nicki Minaj. Since then, Red has dropped her newest project Hood Hottest Princess, and received plenty more cosigns from other top-tier acts including Travis Scott. Her appearance at Rolling Loud is bound to be one of the most ratchet sets of the weekend.


Skilla Baby

Detroit has a few heavy-hitters who helped uplift the city in recent years, and Skilla Baby is one of them. The 24-year-old had been on the grind for a minute before he finally blew up with his breakthrough hit "Trevon" from his 2019 album Push That Shit Out Skilla. Since then, he's delivered eight projects including his Crack Music series, his joint album with Tee Grizzley Controversy, and his most recent album We Eat The Most (Reloaded). There's never a dull moment during a Skilla Baby show. Fans can expect to see him break out all of his greatest hits thus far during his Rolling Loud set in Miami.


Tony Shhnow

Tony Shhnow is having his moment in the spotlight. His ability to rap effortlessly over any beat has resulted in a massive catalog that only took four years to make. After he released his debut mixtape Da World Is Ours in 2019, the Atlanta rapper remained consistent by dropping at least two to three projects a year. In 2023, he followed up his Plug Motivation tape with his latest body of work Love Streak. The independently-released project comes with 16 tracks including "Reminisce" featuring Shelley FKA DRAM. Shhnow is ready to bring the plugg movement to Rolling Loud.


Veeze

Veeze's nonchalant raps over incredible beats has made him a hot commodity since he broke out in the Hip-Hop space four years ago. Following the release of his debut project Navy Wavy in 2019, Veeze notable bangers like "Rusty" and "Law N Order," which samples the intro to the historic TV series. His collaborations with rap stars like Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, Pooh Shiesty, Gucci Mane and more significantly increased his notoriety. In 2023, Veze came through correct with his debut album Ganger with "7sixers" featuring Babyface Ray and Icewear Vezzo and "GOMD" (Remix) featuring Lil Uzi Vert. His set at Rolling Loud could go plenty of ways, but with Uzi as the event's special guest, fans could be blessed with a long-awaited performance between them.
